Ketogains prides itself in helping educate and empower people. One of the most important aspects in the way we do that is the contribution of very experienced people who are passionate about helping others achieve optimal results.

A coach or personal trainer with a “Ketogains Certification” is a person who has proven to have the experience,  personal knowledge in ketogenic lifestyle and commitment and passion to help others. They have passed our Fitness and Ketogenic Nutritional test and we are confident to recommend them as official Ketogains Coaches.

All “Ketogains Certified Coaches” have also either a Nutrition / Strength Training degree, or are certified by a recognized institution such as  the ISSA, Precission Nutrition, or Bayesian Bodybuilding.

We are confident they can help you in a professional manner in subjects like: Ketogenic nutrition and lifestyle, meal plans, fitness and strength training programs, etc.

Luis Villasenor – Personal Trainer / Coach

Luis Villasenor (aka DarthLuiggi) is the founder of KETOGAINS.

Luis has always been passionate about fitness due to a personal interest in improving his own physique. Always curious in learning the “whys and how’s” of how it all works, he has been studying and researching nutrition and strength training since he was 17.

Upon discovering ketogenic diets in 2001, Luis has been on a low carb regime ever since, which he has used to favorably recomposition his body and improve his health,

Due to this, Luis decided to develop KETOGAINS as  to share his experiences and knowledge and help people attain their health and fitness goals.

Luis is regarded as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable persons on Low-Carb / Ketogenic dieting, and is the “go to guy” when applying a Low-Carb diet for Bodybuilding and Strength Training by well-known and respected insiders, leaders, influencers of the low carb/paleo and general fitness community, such as :

 Tyler Cartwright – Personal Trainer / Coach

Tyler began his journey at 505 pounds, alongside his wife whose top weight was nearly 300 lbs.  They have walked together through the journey toward health and fitness over the past 11 years.  Tyler has reduced his weight to 205 pounds and maintained within 10 pounds for well over a year.  His wife, Jamiee, has likewise reduced her weight to 160 pounds and maintained there for 2 years.  Professionally, Tyler’s focus is on working with clients who need to shift lifestyle, behavior, and mental roadblocks to their success, and he coaches our novice and beginner Bootcamps along with a select number of ‘special case’ clients who have needs outside of those that a group setting can support.  He and Jamiee have one daughter, one Labrador retriever, and one crazy/fun/busy life!

Tyler’s background in sports and powerlifting has been advantageous in his pursuit of physical health and wellness, but it was the mental aspects which most surprised him. Tyler’s experience as a self-professed “science nerd” has lead him to become a sought after resource both for a number of popular low-carbohydrate blogs and podcasts, but also as an author of both the ketogains.com website.

Tyler’s principal areas of interest are:

  1. The biochemistry and bioenergetic facets of human performance.
  2. The psychology of change and embracing the journey of long-term non-surgical fat loss
  3. The context-based approach to a well-formulated ketogenic diet.

Tyler’s primary focus these days is in both group-based and individual coaching, introducing the gym to brand new lifters, and encouraging and motivating people to step out of what has obviously NOT worked for them, and to aid them in developing goals, make changes that last, and changing lives in the process.

Along with Luis, he is a founding member of Ketogains, LLC.

Zach Moore – Personal Trainer / Coach

Zach graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University with his master’s degree and holds numerous certifications within nutrition, exercise, and fitness – certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), Precision Nutrition Level 2 coaching certification, certified Bayesian Bodybuilding trainer, USA weightlifting certification, and more.

He has worked with physique athletes, strength athletes, soccer moms, and most everyone in between.

He is currently a coach with Ketogains and Precision Nutrition, and also owns Zach Moore Fitness, LLC, where he does writing, speaking, and consulting.

He was previously a full-time coach at Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training (IFAST), ranked multiples times as one of the top 10 gym in the US.

Along with Tyler and Luis, Zach is in charge of building awesome and challengeing training strength training and body recomposition programs.

Brenda Richards – Bootcamp Coach

Brenda has been a yo-yo dieter her entire adult life…until now. In 2009, she reached out for help at her highest known weight of 407 pounds. In the spring of 2010, she had weight loss surgery, which took her to maintaining at ~290 pounds after the honeymoon period of weightloss her surgeon described had ended.

During the winter of 2016, Brenda nearly passed out in the store. Her doctor ordered several tests, including one which resulted in her being identified as prediabetic. At that time, her doctor suggested considering a Paleo diet, an anti-inflammatory diet, or an Atkins diet. She began researching and found the Ketogains-style approach to the ketogenic diet, which is basically a blend of the other three.

She began her ketogenic portion of her journey in the spring of 2016. After six months on the diet, she was no longer prediabetic.
Brenda’s passion for strength training is a direct result of her experience in Ketogains bootcamps with Luis,Tyler, and Zach. She’d never lifted prior to enrolling in one and was extremely intimidated and overwhelmed her first day in the gym, BUT she went back and has kept going. She has participated in back-to-back camps, first as a client and now as a coach. She is certified by the National Council on Strength and Fitness as a personal trainer and is preparing to enroll in the Bayesian Bodybuilding course.

Brenda has degrees in mathematics, computer science, and educational administration. She works full time as an instructional coach. She has a passion for educating and empowering people find the courage within to risk trying something new and push beyond their comfort zones to achieve levels they didn’t know were within reach.

Aimee Owsley – Bootcamp Coach

Aimee is the mother of 5 children. She has had times in her life where she was a bit overweight, but it wasn’t until she was pregnant with her first son that she began to rapidly gain weight. Over the course of her pregnancy, she put on 100 lbs. During the next six years, she went on to have four more children, but was unable to lose much weight in between. Her highest recorded weight was 265 lbs on the day she gave birth to her 3rd son. After her youngest turned four, she decided she had had enough. She was in her 30s, but felt like she was 60. This wasn’t the life she wanted for herself or her family.

After failing many different diets, due to lack of results or sustainability, Aimee learned about the Ketogains-style Ketogenic Diet from a friend. The fact that you could simply change the way you eat in order to get great results was very appealing to her. January 7th, 2016 was day one of her Ketogenic Diet. She has since dropped a significant amount of weight and is now sitting comfortably at 130 lbs.
Thirteen months after beginning her ketogenic diet, Aimee joined a Ketogains Bootcamp and fell in love with lifting. Seeing the improvements to her body and mind has been a life-changing experience. She has been in every single consecutive bootcamp since she started and is now blessed to be part of the coaching team. Aimee is certified by the International Sports Sciences Association as a Specialist in Fitness Nutrition and she is preparing to enroll in the Bayesian Bodybuilding course.

Aimee is most passionate about helping people achieve their goals. She is especially interested in finding ways to help people realize their true potential and find the confidence they need to change their lives. She truly believes that sometimes people just need someone to believe in them in order to find the strength to succeed. Her mission is to help people do just that.
